Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 ½ pounds fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 2 large plum tomatoes, chopped
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste

Cooking Directions

  1. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add onion and garlic. Cook and stir until onion is translucent, about 5 minutes. Add green beans, tomatoes, and up to 1/2 cup water. Cook until beans and tomatoes are tender, about 10 minutes. Sprinkle basil, salt, and pepper on top.
